Panel discussion on how to turn urban spaces into physical activity playgrounds at ISPO 2022

The “Internationale Fachmesse für Sportartikel und Sportmode”, more commonly referred to as ISPO, is the world's largest trade fair for sporting goods and sportswear. This year's ISPO took place from 28th – 29th November and offered a wide range of products and innovative ideas.

Our project Active City Innovations was also present at the “Brandnew Hub” of ISPO 2022. As part of the panel discussion "How urban space turns into physical activity playground" our colleague Jan Ellinger reported on the findings from the implementation and evaluation of the experimental scenarios within the project. The panel included BSLV president Jörg Ammon and World Champion in rowing single sculls, Oliver Zeidler, among others. The different perspectives illustrated difficulties, but also opportunities in the implementation of physical activity offers in urban areas. We also thank our student assistant Franziska Sippel for her support on this day.
