Within the framework of the CARNIVAL project, Sabrina Lucke used the opportunity to collaborate on research projects with professors of the Marketing Department of the Kellogg School of Management. Her stay allowed her further to gain valuable insights in the academic environment at one of the top-ranked universities in the United States of America. Together with Professor Angela Y. Lee, Head of the Marketing Department of the Kellogg School of Management, Sabrina Lucke started a research project on psychological reactance as possible mechanism behind the success (and failure) of persuasive communication campaigns - with special focus on health and environmental messages.
During weekly doctoral seminars and research colloquiums, held by the Marketing and Psychology Departments, she learned about theoretical backgrounds and recent developments in relevant research areas as well as discussed them in an interdisciplinary environment. By attending relevant conferences in marketing and psychology, Sabrina Lucke was able to get feedback on her own research as well as extended her academic network: for example, she presented a research poster on the Marketing and Public Policy Conference (MPPC) in San Luis Obispo and attended the Association of Psychological Science Conference (APS) in Chicago. The insights will be matched with the research interests of the Chair of Sport and Health Management.
