From 30th of May to 02nd of June 2017, the World Congress of Science and Soccer (WCSS) took place in Rennes. Six Members of the Chair of Trainings Science and Sport Informatics contributed to the Conference and five of them had talks (attendant sessions):
- Thomas Blobel – “Healthy Reference Patterns (HRP) supporting prevention and rehabilitation process in professional football” (RETURN TO PLAY)
- Otto Kolbinger – “Validating the Accuracy of Position Detection Systems in Sports: Methodological Considerations and Exemplary Results” (REFEREES)
- Louis Leventer – “Intra-seasonal dispositions of injury-risk among First Division (TOP CLASS)
- Daniel Link – “The Topography of free kicks in soccer” (MATCH ANALYSIS)
- Daniel Linke – “Evaluation of technological officiating aids” (MATCH ANALYSIS)
Also, two posters have been presented at the poster sessions:
- Louis Leventer – “Inter-seasonal dispositions of injury-risk among First Division Bundesliga soccer players” (INJURY PREVENTION)
- Daniel Linke – “Ball (not) in play: the distortive effect of net playing time on the decline of match running performance in professional football” (MATCH ANALYSIS)
The different topics of each of our presentations at this conference showed a high variety of research fields. Five oral presentations, two posters of high quality and good talks afterward contributed to a very successful conference for our department.
