Prof. Dr. Martin Lames continues to be President of the International Association of Computer Science in Sport. The Full Professor at the Chair of Performance Analysis and Sports Informatics of the Technical University of Munich was confirmed this position until 2021 at the annual meeting of the Association which was held in Moscow. It is already the fourth term of office for the qualified sports scientist.
"The challenge of our society is in particular to deepen the link with other disciplines - especially with the computer sciences. This is where the symposium in Moscow provided a great impulse," says Prof. Lames. Here, many of the participants in the meeting held in the Russian capital were computer scientists. "I am delighted that the integration of this related discipline has been further promoted, as the new elections have resulted in the appointment of more board members in the organization with computer scientists"; PD Dr. Daniel Link, a scientific assistant at the Chair of Performance Analysis and Sports Informatics, was also elected to the Board.
The IACSS is the central international organization for the field of sports informatics. About 800 people are registered in the Interest Group worldwide. Participants from 14 countries traveled to Russia at the Moscow Congress, with a total of 117 entries.
