Content and framework
The EASM Summer School focuses on international sports marketing and gives an overview on various international sports marketing aspects. Besides an introduction into international sports marketing and the value co-creation for sport spectators and athletes, participants gain new insights and expertise in fields like sport consumer behavior, fan motivation/loyalty, sport media rights, brand management, and sports tourism. Furthermore, students will be able to apply professional marketing tools in sport organizations. The Summer School is supplementary to existing national sport management programs. Students gain international experience and can create their own international network. The curriculum is designed according to the demand of the labor market and can be integrated in study programs at TUM. For details about this, please contact the student advisory service.
Distance learning is the teaching method for preparation, followed by lectures, group work, and student presentations during the Summer School. Participants should be Bachelor students or Master students in their second year. Reading materials are used to prepare for the course, supplemented by presentations and case studies. A written exam takes place on the last day of the EASM Summer School. The workload will be around 180 hours (6 ECTS) in total – 140 hours for preparation and 40 hours for lectures.
