PhD Melanie Knopp won the FIMS Young Investigator Award in Athens!

Every two years, the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) holds the World Congress of Sports Medicine during which they present the Young Investigator Award. This year, for the 36th World Congress of Sports Medicine held in Athens, Greece the award was sponsored by the world leading specialized orthopedic and sports medicine hospital, Aspetar. These awards, that were presented to three researchers for the best poster and first- and second-best oral presentations, aim to encourage and support young scientists, and reward outstanding dissemination of their work to an international audience.

This year, we are pleased to announce that Melanie Knopp, a doctoral candidate at the Chair of Exercise Biology, has received the gold prize for her oral presentation entitled “Understanding and enhancing elite running performance – Kenyathlon: A multidisciplinary approach”.
