Joint funding application - postdoctoral researcher from Ukraine
The professorship of Public Health & Prevention at the Technical University of Munich is planning to offer the possibility for one postdoctoral researcher from Ukraine to apply for funding to join the chair. We propose to jointly file an application for funding via the Philip-Schwartz Initiative, in order to give this person the possibility to continue working on their own research projects in Germany for 2 years. The Philipp Schwartz Initiative enables universities and research institutions in Germany to host researchers at risk and the 2022 application call was specifically extended until March 18th for applications of Ukrainian scholars.
One funding criteria is that there should be a good professional fit between the guest and the host institution. The candidate therefore should have previous research experience in the field of Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Economics or Health Services Research, proven through an informative publication track record. Ideally, the person also has expertise and/or interest in the fields of
- non-communicable disease prevention and population health
- empirical analysis, evidence synthesis, causal inference, (cost-) effectiveness analyses, simulation modelling, machine learning & AI, health policy evaluation or digital health
We are looking for a person who is currently not able to carry out his/her research due to the dramatic situation in Ukraine.
If successful, the scholarship would include a full wage for 2 years. Additional expenses for spouse and children can also be considered in the application. Besides jointly filing the application, we will help successful candidates to settle in Germany and provide access to an open-minded scholarly environment.
