Physical Activity & Prevention

The Chair of Epidemiology will host an International Symposium and Workshop for „Physical Activity and Prevention. Building networks and designing intervention studies" from 21 to 22 March 2019. The Symposium will take place near Munich, Germany, at the TUM Science and Study Center Raitenhaslach.

The goal of this Symposium and Workshop is to bring together experts in the area of Physical Activity and Prevention, who have expertise with large cohort and intervention studies. We would like to learn and network as well as find innovative study designs for future research. We are very delighted that some of the most renowned scientists worldwide in the area of research on population-based physical activity and intervention studies will give keynote lectures and will participate in the panel discussion. Additionally most invited speakers will be around for both days, so that there will be plenty of time for networking.

The symposium and workshop starts on Thursday, 21 March at 10.30 am with three sessions on “International intervention studies on chronic diseases”, “Cohort studies on chronic diseases and physical activity” and “Monitoring life style behavior – Measuring physical activity and diet”. On the second day, Friday, 22 March, there will be a session on “What makes people active?” and a panel discussion on “Developing the best physical activity interventions and designing high quality long-term intervention studies”, plus enough time for networking discussions.

The detailed agenda including titles of all keynotes and presentations can be downloaded here.
