Team ELDA convinces with project "InSoMe"
With their project "InSoMe", Elke Langbein and Dr. Daniela Schwarz - Team ELDA - from the Associate Professorship of Didactics in Sport and Health recently won a tender of the Re-Boot Social Media Lab.
"InSoMe" is a project with the goal of bringing people with support needs (especially intellectual disabilities, ID) and students together and initiating exchange. As a result, participants collaboratively identify challenges and opportunities for improvement in social media contexts.
"InSoMe" at the Special Olympics 2022
To narrow down the context a bit, "InSoMe" will start as part of the National Games of the Special Olympics from June 19 to 24, 2022 in Berlin. More than 4,000 athletes will come together to compete in 20 different sports.
"InSoMe" thereby aims to find out how people with ID can participate in social media, identify suitable opportunities for better co-creation of social media and explore which channels offer the lowest possible barriers for participation of people with ID. The project is solution-oriented in nature and may yield fundamental innovations and revolutionary technical achievements.
"The National Games are an important sports event that promotes inclusion. We therefore also want to use them to give our project more visibility and make it better known," says Dr. Schwarz, explaining her plans for the future.
