We welcome a new team member: Andreas Konrad - visiting researcher from the University of Graz

Project title: "Targeted muscle stretching to improve running economy"

Andreas Konrad was working as a postdoctoral researcher and a project leader at the Institute of Human Movement Science, Sport and Health at the University of Graz. Over the course of his PhD study, he has become an expert in human anatomy, ultrasonography (B-mode and shear wave elastography), and electromyography for the observation of muscle dynamics. In his PhD research project and as a postdoctoral researcher, he analyzed the acute, prolonged, and long-term effects of different exercises (e.g., stretching, foam rolling) on various muscle-tendon unit characteristics.

In Mai 2020 his project “Targeted muscle stretching to improve running economy” got funded with the Erwin-Schrödinger Fellowship of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). This grant allows him to go abroad to the TUM between 1.5.2021 to 30.4.2022. His research project is closely linked to his passion. Andi is a passionate Ironman triathlete.

We are happy to have you on our team!
