In the course of further internationalization, the Faculty for Sport and Health Sciences even welcomes three guest scientists during this winter semester.
Prof. Halimu Shauri from the Kenyan Pwani University visits the Chair for Diversity and Sociology of Full Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Wacker. Prof. Chen Kai from the Chinese Southwest Jiaotong University and Dr. Christopher Mesagno from the Australian Federation University support the Chair for Sport Psychology of Full Prof. Dr. Jürgen Beckmann. During their stay, all of these individuals will engage themselves in various projects in research and teaching.
Workshop for Summer School 2016 in Kenya
Prof. Shauri will be a guest at the Chair for Diversity and Sociology until November 19, 2015. This visit has been made possible through the guest professor program of the Bavarian State Ministry for Education, Culture, Science and the Arts. Shauri cooperated with the Chair headed by Prof. Wacker in the course of the projects on "Social impact assessment in Coastal Kenya" and "CBResearch". In the summer of 2016, a mutual summer school will be offered in Kenya for students of this faculty. In preparation for this, Shauri holds a brief workshop in order to provide a basic insight into the Kenyan perspective of Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR).
Research cooperation on the topic of "Choking under Pressure"
Dr. Christopher Mesagno from the Federation University will be supporting the Chair for Sport Psychology until December 23, 2015 and is being financed by the guest professor program of the TU Munich. During this time, Mesagno will primarily be involved in teaching. In the future, a cooperative research program on the topic of "choking under pressure" is to be developed which has been applied for at the Deutschen Akademischen Auslandsdienst (DAAD; German Academic Exchange Service).
Scholarship from the Chinese government
Prof. Chen Kai will have the longest visit in Munich, lasting until September 30, 2016. This professor from the Chinese Southwest Jiaotong University will be performing research at the Chair for Sport Psychology on the topic of "Maintenance of physical activity over a lifespan. Factors promoting and impairing intrinsic motivation for physical activity throughout life". His visit is being financed through a scholarship from the Chinese government.
