The coronavirus has also changed sport in Germany forever. Sports may only be practised again under strict hygiene rules. In some federal states, such as Bavaria, a visit to the gym is only possible with mouth-nose protection and subject to distancing rules. Clubs and associations face enormous legal challenges. In addition, there are dangers for risk groups when doing sports and uncertainty for top athletes as to how the pandemic will affect the practice of their sport. Even major events such as the Olympic Games or the European Football Championship had to be postponed due to COVID-19.
On all of these topics, the Chair of Exercise Biology of Prof. Dr. Henning Wackerhage and Dr. Martin Schönfelder in cooperation with Norbert Moser of the statutory accident insurance VGB will hold a digital zoom conference entitled "COVID-19 & German Sport: Facts, Myths and Recommendations for Action” on Thursday, 20 August 2020, from 3 to 6 PM.
Prof. Dr. Henning Wackerhage, Dr. Martin Schönfelder and Norbert Moser were able to win the following top-class speakers for the event:
Prof. Dr. Ulrike Protzer is a physician, virologist and director of the Institute of Virology at the TU Munich and the Helmholtz Center Munich. In her presentation she will focus on "SARS-CoV-2: a virus like no other" (3:00-3:30 PM).

Among other things, his team created a hygiene concept for the reopening of fitness studios for the German Industry Association for Fitness and Health (DIFG e.V.). His thematic focus is therefore on "COVID-19 and fitness studios". (4:00-4:30 PM).
