Valentin Nußer has been supporting our team since the beginning of the year. After his bachelor studies in sports science at the TU Munich, he completed the master program "Sport & Exercise Science", also here at the faculty. During the master's program, Valentin studied for one semester in Oslo (NIH), where he focused on the protein requirements of endurance athletes, among other topics. In his master thesis, "A comparison of methods using a targeted metabolomics approach to analyze exercise metabolism", Valentin compared two blood sampling methods (dried blood spots and blood plasma).
His tasks at our professorship include collaboration on various projects as well as teaching support.
Starting in mid-April, Paulina Wasserfurth joins our team. After her bachelor's degree in biology at Leibniz University Hannover, Paulina completed her master's degree in "Microbiology and Biochemistry" at Georg-August-University Göttingen. For her doctoral studies she moved back to Hannover, where she investigated the health-promoting effects of sport and nutrition in untrained adults in an interdisciplinary research project. In addition, Paulina participated in many other research projects during this time. In addition to her work at the university, Paulina is a nutrition coach and brings expertise from the field of weight training through many years of working as a coach for CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting.
In the future, Paulina will be involved in teaching as well as participating in research projects.
