Since the beginning of 2020, Helena Engel has been part of the team as a doctoral student in the field of sports nutrition. After her studies of nutritional sciences at the TUM, Helena completed both the Master in Diagnostics and Training (TUM) and the Master in Sport Nutrition at the Liverpool John Moores University. Subsequently, she has already worked on various research projects as a student assistant and intern. Currently Helena is coordinating the 9-month research project "EBal-Ski" ("Energy Balance in Alpine Skiing under consideration of altitude"). The study is carried out in cooperation with the German Ski Association (Deutscher Skiverband - DSV) and aims to characterize the energy balance of international ski racers during training at altitude and over the course of the season using valid measuring methods that have been tested several times.
