Our PhD student Daniela Schranner published her first paper for her dissertation at the Chair of Exercise Biology. We know that exercise poses a major challenge for metabolism and that metabolites like lactate change significantly during physical activity. But next to lactate, there are roughly 1000 other metabolites that can be measured in human blood. But, which metabolites change significantly within 24 hours after a bout of exercise in humans? - This is, what Daniela’s review looked at. The systematic literature search showed that in 57 single experiments, 196 metabolites change significantly after exercise. For more details, see the full text.
