Stefanie Frings’ research is anchored in the field of social inequality, diversity and difference when facing impairment and disability in society. More specifically, she focuses on concepts and development options for social services and care systems derived from steering theories. In this context, what drives her investigation is the interdependence of social and contextual factors as they relate to conditions and quality of life. Furthermore, she examines their implications for equal participatory opportunities, particularly in the educational system. Stefanie Frings obtained her diploma in Rehabilitation Sciences (M.A. equiv.) at the Technische Universität Dortmund in 2006, majoring in occupational and social rehabilitation.
From 2006 to 2013, she worked there as a Research Assistant in the Sociology of Rehabilitation, before transferring to the Chair for Sociology of Diversity at the Technical University of Munich in March 2013. Since February 2015 Mrs Frings is no longer working at the TUM.
