In her research, Sarah Reker (b. 1986) focuses on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. More specifically, she investigates the relevance of social and community space in the implementation process of conditions conducive to participation when faced with impairment.
Sarah Reker obtained her M.A. in rehabilitation sciences at the Technische Universität Dortmund. From October 2012 to February 2015, Sarah Reker was a Research Associate at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, Munich. There, the Inclusion and Disability research group headed by Prof. Wacker examined the “Transformation of social support systems; participation and disability; structures, measures and effects of prevention, rehabilitation and health development in a national and international perspective”.
Sarah Reker joined the Sociology of Diversity Chair at the Technical University of Munich as a Research Associate in January 2014.
