The International Summer School on "New Technologies and Changing Behaviors" for early career scientists was held the 17-22 June 2018, in Bertinoro (Competence Center of the University of Bologna), Italy. Organized by the EU funded PreventIT project http://www.preventit.eu/index.php/news_events/summerschool-new-technologies-and-changing-behaviours/ Nina Rohrbach, ZD.B Fellow https: // center- digitization.bayern/initiativen-fuer-die-wissenschaft/graduate-program/graduate-fellowship/ and research member of the lab of Human Movement Sciences, took part as one of 32 participants from eight different countries and renowned institutes, among others University of Science and Technology, University of Basel, Eindhoven University of Technology, University of Manchester UK, German Sport University Cologne, RBK Stuttgart, or University of Adelaide. In particular, state-of-the-art solutions, current trends and new approaches in the areas of behaviour change theory and taxonomy, co-design and digital technologies with the focus on increasing and maintaining an active lifestyle were debated. In interactive workshops, the approaches were practically applied in small groups and ideas for market entry were discussed. The technological possibilities are versatile and provide enormous potential for the future healthcare system. However, technology should only be understood as a tool in a complex interaction of influential factors. In particular, the composition of all experts (lecturers and participants) from different backgrounds (e.g. Movement Science, Physical Therapy, Computation Science, Psychology, Industrial Design, Management or Sociology) showed that the extensive opportunities can at its best be developed in transdisciplinary teams and in cooperation with all stakeholders. www.ceub.it/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/PreventIT_Summer_School_2018_third_annoucement.pdf
