Andrea Goettler is the Diversity Officer of the Department of Sport and Health Sciences and research assistant in the area of Sociology of Diversity. In her role as Diversity Officer, she works towards creating a university experience based on a culture of inclusion, equity and diversity. In cooperation with the diversity committee, she manages and implements the diversity and gender strategy of the department. In her teachings, she focuses the relationship between society and health, taking into account social inequalities and diversity. Her PhD project investigates older migrants in Germany and the discourses on migration background, ethnicity and health in older age.

Andrea Goettler studied Anthropology (B.Sc.) at the University of Kent and Global Health (M.Sc.) at Maastricht University. Her interest in global health involved research visits to the Manipal University in India and to the University of Vienna. Before coming to the Technical University of Munich, Andrea Goettler worked at the Mannheim Institute of Public Health of the Heidelberg University.


Bonventure Obeka, M.A.

Mr. Bonventure Obeka is a Sociology Tutorial Fellow in the Department of Social Science at Pwani University. He has experience in teaching and research at the University level and over the years has amassed a wealth of knowledge in various research areas that greatly focus on; Radicalization, conflict and violent extremism and its consequent prevention, human rights, environmental health and community development. Furthermore, Mr. Obeka has a keen interest in maters of development, especially in the design of social policies. His training coupled with his research background in the area of prevention of conflict and violent extremism (P/CVE) amongst different vulnerable populations is deemed to be key in ensuring that the existing framework is critically reviewed and effectively customized to respond to the needs of students to attain a higher level of cohesion in the society.
