On 28th May, the German Ski jumping National team performed biomechanical tests in the laboratory of Biomechanics of the Perfomance and Prevention Lab under the supervision of Florian Paternoster, Denis Holzer, Korbinian Ksoll, Susanne Linner and Veronica Bessone. During the day, kinetic and kinematic data have been collected for giving technical suggestions to the athletes and improving their performance, in particular the take-off phase. The athletes of the Team, winners of a total of six Olympic and 19 World Championship medals, as well as their coaches, have been particularly interested in the outcomes of the tests, since a live feedback of their movements was provided with consequent technical indications.
The biomechanical support has performed on behalf of the collaboration between the department of Biomechanics in Sports of Prof. Schwirtz and the Bavarian Olympic Training Center, where our former colleague Johannes Petrat is working and supporting the German Ski jumping Team.
